Iran has continually been threatening "DEATH TO ISRAEL" and preparing to destroy Israel by bringing in hundreds of thousand shia militia forces to take Israel on from the Golan area. They have been disguised as Syrian Army..They have established bases from which to strike at Israel thru the Golan.Now by recognizing Golan as Israel territory,the USA can assist Israel in case of need and also stop Iran's highway to the Med Sea. In fact Iran is a greater threat to that area than it is to Israel. The EU or Arab League or UN or Russia etc can do nothing as Israel is there to stay
