The election results show unequivocally that the majority want a sane centrist parliament and government, without pressure from extremist and fringe groups.
2. Unity government, Wonderful idea, let's do it please!!!

3. Enough with leftist delusions
Shoula ,   Tel Aviv   (04.10.19)
Only a right wing government . Likud and bibi will not be blackmailed ever again by the left. He must stay in power when the left use a witch hunt against its own pm. Likud will nit save the death if the left. No unity after so much leftist Personal hatred.

Sam ,   Montreal   (04.10.19)
Bi-national state is just leftist scare mongering. The issue is how Gaza and West Bank violence will be dealt with because there is not going to be any Trump peace treaty.
7. A Unity Government Now, More Than Ever
Mark Jeffery Koch ,   Mount Laurel, NJ USA   (04.10.19)
The right wing in Israel can believe that everything is fine now that Netanyahu is allowed to continue in office but there are very dark clouds on the horizon.

Jewish Americans support for Israel is waning because of the embrace of far right positions by the Prime Minister. The right wing, filled with hubris, may claim that Israel does not need the support of Jews in America but they need to look around and see the world as it exists today, not in their fantasy.
The attitude towards prayer at the Western Wall and the Nation State Law have alienated a sizeable portion of American Jews. Discount the support of American Jews all you want but the time will come when you will regret losing your most valuable ally.

The BDS movement which does not support a two State solution and whose supporters don't believe in the legitimacy of the nation of the Israel is growing and its adherents worldwide will continue to increase under Netanyahu. The Nation State Law and the camera's at Arab citizens polling places only serve to enforce the belief that Israel has become an apartheid State.

Evangelicals in the past have supported Israel but all surveys and polls taken show that younger evangelicals are questioning the blind support of Israel by Christian leaders and are more and more critical of Israel's treatment of the Palestinians.

Israel needs a unity government and a government that does not march in lockstep with the far right. Annexing the West Bank will bring Israel's economic juggernaut to a grinding halt. Not offering an olive branch to the Palestinians will continue the march to a one State solution. Embracing dictators in the region will not ensure long term peace for Israel as the leaders in Egypt and Saudi Arabia are oppressing their own people and have enemies both internal and external that are adamant about ending their rule. Israel needs to make peace with it's neighbors, not solely the leaders of those countries.

Lastly, there is no Israeli in the Knesset that is not 100% committed to the security of the State of Israel. Israel has the best military in the Middle East, and the world's second best airforce. Israel has become a technological marvel around the world. Israel is stronger than it has ever been. If the leaders of Israel cannot forge a lasting agreement with the Palestinians now then Abba Eban's famous statement "the Palestinians never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity" will apply to Israel as well.

Now more than ever, Israel must work on a solution to the Israeli Palestinian conflict and now more then ever Israel must also open up its arms to the diaspora and make all Jews worldwide feel welcome and proud.
8. Another advise?
tiki ,   belgium   (04.10.19)
Israel doesn't need a unity government.
A rightist one will be just fine!

The American liberal Jews will have to live with it, as the Israeli Jews had to live with 8 years of Obama.
9. Get rid of the fanatics, once and for all!
Rephael Rechitzky ,   Toronto   (04.10.19)
Hi,

Use this opportunity to get together without the religious parties and separate the religion from the state. That will be a huge victory and will show what most Israelis always wanted. Believe in whatever you want, but don't impose yourself on others.
By doing the above, you can make peach with the huge Jewish communities in both the US & Canada and Europe. Good luck!
10. no one wants to hear from belinist ben dror
marcel   (04.10.19)
ben dror is a deluded peresnik, detached from reality. his prescriptions are those of a has been, a deluded disconnected laborite. israel is sick of such advice. so ben dror should go away, not to come back.
11. Agree
Bar Star ,   Jerusalem   (04.10.19)
B&W has too many stupid people like Lapid. The unity government would be the best for Israel. It's time for Gantz to climb down from the high tree and do what is good for the country.
12. BUT JEWS DON'T WANT TO BE UNITED !
TEL EM STRAIGHT ,   SAFED HONESTY   (04.10.19)
13. a big national coalition
simon ,   new york   (04.10.19)
100% RIGHT.

THERE ARE A LOT OF REASONS DWHY A GREAT COALITION WITH NETANYAHU - GANTZ WILL BE THE BEST FOR ISRAEL.

FIRST EVERYBODY ABROUD WILL BE CONFRONTED WITH A STRONG UNITED COUNTRY..
SECONDLY IT WILL BOAST THE ECONOMY GROWTH AND STRENGTH OF ISRAEL
I
14. THERE WILL NEVER BE UNITY AMONG JEWS. EVER!!! DIVIDED PEOPLE
oleg ,   florida   (04.11.19)
I MET ONCE A HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR HE SAID A WISE THING TO ME YOU PUT 3 JEWS IN ONE ROOM THEY WILL FIGHT AND END UP 100 DIFFERENT OPINION. THIS IS THE TYPE OF PEOPLE WE ARE. WE ARE EACH OTHER'S ENEMY. NOTHING CHANGED IN 5000 YEARS.
15. Unity Government
Alon ,   Bet SHemesh   (04.10.19)
Isn't it strange that the left-center loses and the first thing their sycophants in the press want is a "unity govt". I don't remember them calling for it when the left-center won.

Face it, Ben-Dror Yemini. Your guys could not overcome the Center Right bloc so no free gifts for your side. Especially when, as reported in ynet that Gantz and Lapid immediately say that they'll sit in opposition and make life miserable for Likud. Now that'll really be an incentive for Bibi to bring them into the fold.
16. The Left - Palestinian - Arab charade is over forever!
Kenny ,   Sarona TA   (04.11.19)
Congratulations to Netanyahu are deserved, but only partially.

It seems to me that no one wants to acknowledge the truth. The real winners of the elections have been the Haredi parties, the immovable Rock of Israel.

Never have so few won so many.

These elections will mark a before and after in our history. Nothing will ever be the same.

The parties of the Left, the Arabs of Israel, the so called Palestinian people, and 130 nations of the world which support them, will need a brain transplant to understand the blinding new reality.

The time of awakening of the sleeping Israeli giant has arrived.

Today is the first day of a New Creation.

Long Life to the Haredi Parties, the new Lords of Israel.
17. An abominable idea
Naomi Ben Enosh ,   Ma'ale Levonah   (04.11.19)
Before, I prefer to convert to Christianity than to support an unity government where there are leftist ministers.
18. The shipwreck of the Israeli left
Ashmodai ,   Ein Dor   (04.11.19)
In these terrible moments of bewilderment, it can be said that the suffering voters of the left never saw that their ship was sinking with Gabbai and Livni on the bridge.

With the water around their necks, they had no choice but to get on the lifeboat improvised by a jester and three retired generals, bored and asleep, who wanted to run a business for which they were never prepared.

In view of the disastrous end, this is the time to congratulate HRH the Prince of Israel, Hon. Isaac Herzog, the only leftist who intuiting the imminent tragedy of the Labor Party, with astuteness and elegance saved himself in time in such a relevant position as President of the Jewish Agency.

I believe that Mr. Herzog is the only legitimate descendant of the Jewish who left Europe before the beginning of WW2. That's just why he deserves to be remembered.

20. Israel needs a strong patriotic rightist government now!
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.11.19)
Israel has spoken loud and clear. Israel spoke for strong patriotism. Israel rejected the abominable Two State Final Solution. Israel rejected the sick, destructive path of the left. Despite the fact the powerful leftist Deep State did everything in it's power to hand the election to Gantz and the left. Israel needs a strong rightist patriotic government now!
21. Israel need a national unity government
lal ram ,   Wolverhampton, UK   (04.13.19)
Israel now need a national unity government now, the people have spoken, they don't want change in leadership. For the sake of Israel's security and survival. People should put aside their differences, political affiliation, personal agendas. I plead with my brethren. The Arabs and the Persian, the Turks, Syrians have vowed to destroy Israel. The only thing that's keeping Israel alive is the Almighty God (Hashem). Because of his everlasting covenants with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. If Israel's people unite in a unity government no country in the world would dare to attack her.

24. A unity government?
Bertram ,   London, UK.   (04.14.19)
The deluded paranoiacs who think it is unity about right and left have clearly not understood that, sadly in my view, the left has practically disappeared from the Israeli political arena. This proposal is for a unity government between two brands of right-wing politics, a Netenyahu brand and a Gantz brand. No wonder the Arab citizens of Israel view the election process with indifference.
