Devorah   (04.12.19)
Since Day One, we have experienced more hard landings than anyone, yet we thrive and continue to break new ground everywhere you look. So will our space aspirations.

Very proud of the SpaceIL team.

8. not a failure in anyway
zionist forever   (04.12.19)
The spacecraft got all the way to the Moon the way it was planned to and the descent was all going fine until a main engine failure at a point where it was to late to do anything.

Even the oldest and most mature technologies that has been used thousands of times sometimes fails but in space it happens, in this case the main engine had worked fine the entire trip even during descent but then something went wrong and it switched off and it crash landed.
This mission was a 100% success until something went wring at the very last minute.

How many elderly could have received decent meals with the $100 million wasted on this folly? How many hospitals and schools could have received desperatley needed upgrades and equipment? What a shame!
21. DEAR ISREAL! I SO WISHG I WAS THERE TO WATCH THIS MOMENT
IRANIAN JEW ,   LALA LAND   (04.12.19)
With you. Your every minute existence is a daily miracle while the entire illiterate world watches you with jealousy and hate. While your neighbors fighting daily over tribe and religion supremacy, you are looking forward to the bright future. Only71 years have passed by since your modern creation, and you have achieved more than any of your neighbors. While mullahs are trying to pay and convince the rest of the world that their progress can only happen if tiny Israel is destructed, while they can’t even provide simple daily needs of their own citizens, you are marching onto space. You are not perfect, but we are proud of you.
22. Too bad it crahed.
(04.11.19)
the crash could have been avoided, had Spaceil taken my advice:
The altimeter failed, because of the ridge of Mare serenitas, when beresheet flew over it at high speed , some 600 km/h
The corredt procedure would be to brake the horizontal speed to zero with the spacecraft coming to free fall that can be braked like a hovercraft, much simpler

but ability to target an object is dead on. can also target object anywhere on earth with great accuracy. terrorists should beware.
24. Great scientific achievemement It got there. Not a failiure
Alan ,   SA   (04.13.19)
There will be MANY spinoffs after this. One cant quantify the benefits that are yet to come. The crew running the operation deserve all praise. Imagine-to hit t the moon right on target from so far away . How many accurate manouvres did that take?? Forget that this was a failure.... no way!Israel personnel sent an object to the moon.-how many countries can do that.
25. Gravity ??? Could that be our mistake ?
barbara ,   Haifa   (04.13.19)
Everything seemed to operate okay throughout all Beresheet's orbits - so I
am thinking that may be there is an element (metal) on the moon that makes
an item heavier with the gravity as it gets closer and that is why it crashed.
May be the satellite needs to be lighter in weight at a certain point close to the moon. (just an idea I had).
26. There won't be a 3rd try. So a 2nd fail must be avoided.
N ,   N   (04.13.19)
Either with huge amounts of money or better stall the program for good.
