1. In Morocco
Elbaz   (04.21.19)
There is no Jewish, Muslim or Christian. They are all Moroccan subjects.
In fact they call each other brother and sister. I happen to arrive with a foreign passport to the border police at the airport. The processing officer looked at my passport as if he was processing another tourist. When he saw "place of birth Casablanca" he stood up and with a big smile said: Welcome home brother.
In Fes, another police officer who recognised us as jews, came and started hugging us, telling us that Morocco without the jews will never be the same again. I asked how does he know, he is too young to remember. He replied that his parents told him that on a daily basis.
My respect to his Majesty the King and to the citizens of Morocco.
2. Thank you Associated Press
one who knows   (04.21.19)
To be fair to your readers, it is true, jewish presence can be found in Berber villages in the Sahara, but also in Mohamed V Boulvard, Rue Allal Ben Abdellah, Blaise Pascal, Bourgogne, with it's luxury villas, modern cinemas and theatres, fashion districts, museums and art galleries.
It sounds very exotic to link Moroccan jews with Berber and Sahara. Big mistake. Jews with bow ties and white gloves went to France, Canada and Australia. The less fortunate went to Israel.
3. small traditional communities have much to teach us.
ex Oleh Chadash   (04.21.19)
They have not yet been contaminated by either the reform or that lunatic "we want moshiach now" black coats sect.

So, they remain so authentic! Mazal Tov! Keep going.

I like to see them.
4. 'crumbling house over there is where they used to live".
ex Oleh Chadash   (04.21.19)
Today they use to live in crumbling houses and apartments all over Israel.

Just go south TLV and see... Oy, oy, oy...

Beautiful pictures, I set the synagogue as my desktop background.

btw, this community introduced Hamsah amulet into Israeli society. My second cousins were ashkenazim and haven't seen any Hamsah before coming to my house, where I hang a Hamsah... because I still feel Israeli.
5. Someone of Jewish origin from Morocco
Sjoerd van der Velde ,   Hoorn Holland   (04.21.19)
Mordechai Vanunu was born in 1953, in Marrakech, in Morocco. He and his family later came to Israel. The Jewish people live in many countries. The diaspora of the Jewish people. Most of the Jewish people,, of any country, now live in Israel.
6. expulsion
LARRY LISS ,   usarmy retired   (04.21.19)
remember 840,000 jews living in arab countries were deported at gun point in 1948 that is 100,000 more jews forced out then arabs asked to stay in Israel as a home for the jews mandated and passed by the united nations
7. The ancient Hebrews are extinct.
Jimbo ,   Casa   (04.21.19)
These converts in time are no more than Amazing racist and trouble makers. Moroccan Jews? Surely you jest. These fraudsters are just like the Euro Caucasian convert, they have no basis in reality but they are a prophetic time piece.
8. beautiful country, but...
(04.21.19)
I already saw a documentary on TV. They eat monkey brains.
Someone told me women are mistreated, it is a very sexist society. There is also a lot of poverty, just look those people who work in tanneries.
If you have money to spend and go as a tourist all the countries in the world seem beautiful to you.
