2. Government interest depends on how people die.
Every time someone is killed in a terror attack the government and the media have a field day.
Due to financial pressure the relatively large number of deaths that occur in the building industry are completely ignored by our government. Relating to this problem will not bring new voters to support our Prime Minister, but it will antagonise the building contractors.

In my religious circles, for sure, the death of someone would have been mentioned as well as a Tehillim said, but here, you had a huge amount of people gathered together to have a good time, all lacking in decency...they should have made special mention of a man who gave his life to make the event possible! for shame!

I do not think I have ever looked at a building site in Israel and seen even 1 person wearing a hard hat, seems nobody enforces even basic safety.
When renovations were being done to the building I live in there was not a hard hat in sight despite the fact there was scaffold up and there was a rubble chute set up, nobody was wearing working shoes ( not even army boots ) I even saw one man in sandals walking along a scaffold outside my window.
My nephew is in the UK doing a course in plumbing and if he turns up to collage without his steel toe boots and other safety gear on a day when there is a practical he is sent home but in Israel there is no such thing as safety.
Even outside the construction industry people are negligent, one time an engineer from HOT the cable tv company came because I was not getting any signal and the cable went out the window and was attached to the wall so he climbs onto my big windows, stands on the edge and hangs out to try and get a view of the cable, it seems Israelis just do not think about safety.
