1. Are these plastic particles larger than 5 microns?

It would be interesting to know if our 5 micron water filter removes these particles. And, if not, is there a filter that eliminates these plastic particles?

2. To answer my own question (for everyone's info)...

According to Dr Anne Marie Mahon at the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, who conducted the research, as reported in The Guardian (https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/sep/06/plastic-fibres-found-tap-water-around-world-study-reveals), “There is nowhere really where you can say these are being trapped 100%. In terms of fibres, the diameter is 10 microns across and it would be very unusual to find that level of filtration in our drinking water systems.”
So, our 5 micron hall filter has been keeping them out of our water for years. :-)

3. I am sure to be eating plastics
I never use a "one time" bag once, but use them to store items in closets, drawers and in boxes in a store room.
Better plastic bags, such as from IKEA 1 shekel bag, I put in a drawer until needed. I needed a bag and found that the IKEA bag ( and two others) disintegrated and could only be cleaned out with a vacuum cleaner. I had plastic bits in the air for many minutes and this was in my kitchen. How many of these plastic dust particles wound up in my lungs and food?
