Imagine how a normal nation (like France, Russia, Germany, Poland etc.) would respond to a party (like Israel's Labor Party) that sought to trim it's waist to 9 miles. Of course, it would NEVER have a shot at political power. It's leaders would likely end up in lunatic asylums. Israel's problem is that we allow people to rise to political power who would rightly be certified insane in any other state. Tens of thousands of Israelis pay, with their lives and wellbeing, for the lunacy.
