1. Looking at these demonstrations - I feel so ashamed
Talula ,   Tel Aviv   (07.04.19)
Ashamed that these people are treated like second class citizens and are persecuted because of the colour of their skin. It's sickening - let's not forget the Holocaust and how that began - what's the difference?
2. All respect is now reduced to nothing
Ben ,   Haifa   (07.04.19)
Personally I know the Ethiopian people as a polite, silent and as community people, but they are not the strongest community in Israel. That there is a feeling of discrimination and racism, yes I can believe this, but we have to ask the question why do they feel like this and where does it comes from?.... On this moment the the Ethiopian community suffer from, high domestic violence & criminality and this reflects immediately how you are perceived. From both sides a lot of work have to be done because, acceptation and integration is not a one sided action. But with the regretful actions of this week the Ethiopian people have done more damage to their selves, and more regretful is that these actions will not be easy forgotten and always will reflect on your community.
3. a traffic jam is a small price to pay
doda ,   tel aviv   (07.04.19)
4. Barnea is wrong
Stan ,   Israel   (07.04.19)
It is not government policy to kill young Ethiopians. The problem is far more serious, this is a cultural problem just as in the United States, and apartheid South Africa in the past, in Israel the Ethiopian population who are very dark skinned, and are obviously from Africa are looked down upon as something less than human. The difference from the US is that these people are Jews like the rest of us and as such should be treated as equals by all Israelis. In USA and in apartheid South Africa killing blacks was not seen as a problem because they were not seen as being human at the same level as the rest of us.
After seeing members of their people
killed or ill treated for decades the Ethiopians finally decided to teach Israeli society that they are no longer prepared be treated this way. Despite the enormous disruption that was caused by these demonstrations, if the police and the government have learnt that it is necessary to change their ways then the discomfort that was caused to many Israeli citizens in the past couple of days was worthwhile.
5. Violence of Protesters is not to be tolerated
Vitali Markov ,   Jerusalem   (07.04.19)
I do feel deeply ashamed by the fact that a young Israeli adult of an Ethiopian origin was shot by a policemen. It's a fact we can't deny and should protest against. However it is allowed to ask questions about the method chosen by protesters - which is to fight violence with violence. Especially since civilians as well as policemen were hurt. Violence should not be a political argument. And it is ok to say that. We are disgusted by photos of violence we've seen in recent days during the protests is the right reaction for all those, who do not support violent method. If every group in Israel would express it's anger of politics in that form, we would stop to exist as a community
6. PONDER THIS
TEL EM STRAIGHT ,   SAFED HONESTY   (07.04.19)
Racism is stupid and makes little sense, after all money has no colour .Israel has enough tzuris ,troubles and threats from Iran who threaten to destroy Israel in 30 minutes and Hizbollah without needing internal problems, black or white we need shalom bayit ,peace at home. So we must respect the police and the police should respect us in return .
7. THE REASON WHY
SAFED KABBALIST ,   SAFED GENIUS   (07.04.19)
The ' sod ' , the secret reason why we have traffic jams here is because this is Eretz Hakodesh ,the Holy Land. And because we cannot have Hams, which are forbidden to us, we make do with Jams. Because in the english alphabet ,the letters H and J are close neighbours.
8. BLACK LIVES MATTER
MR CYNIC ,   SAFED CYNIC HOUSE   (07.04.19)

11. Cry me river
Alex ,   Nyc   (07.04.19)
If Israel so bad why don't they go back or to another country and you know the answer Israel is one of the best places to live in the world and you and everyone else should feel lucky to live here and Africans do know that there's no official racism or discrimination to the contrary to come out and destroy government property attack police and disrupt people lives your citizenship should be revoked yes all new citizenship should be condition on your civility
12. No one pushed them to come
Alex ,   Sr   (07.04.19)
They can come back and solve the problem by themselfs. But they will never do it. No one of them. Because here they can cry racism and get a free lunch. Pure and simple.

to negotiate the ARTIFICIAL TRAFFIC JAM in the above photo?
Barnea is so intoxicated with political ideology, and the need to prove a point, that he forgot the most blatantly obvious...Use of the major highways is not only for the sake of convenience and comfort, but is sometimes actually required to SAVE LIVES!!!
