1. Dariusz Stola
Mark Mandell ,   New York City   (07.17.19)
I've heard Dariusz Stola speak several times, including once in Poland. Polin is one of the best Jewish museums in the world and a lot of the credit has to go to Mr. Stola. Whatever the controversies that surround Mr. Stola in Poland, Poland has a lot to be proud of with regard to this museum. It would be a shame if Mr. Stola does not continue in this role.
2. Doubtful at best, how much this place can contribute to

healing /repairing the often bitter animosity there is (and will remain) between Jews and Poles.
It's a loaded and very complicated matter, not being helped by the present representatives of both countries (sorry to say, but it's true)
3. Big percentage of Poles would like to see that place be re-

made into a shrine exhibiting Polish heroism in saving Jews...
You can laugh or you can moan, but that's the problem with all things Jewish-Polish. :-((
4. Fantastic museum

This museum is a fantastic place that holds no punches. Its exhibits cover the whole 900 year history of Jews in Poland and candidly and honestly relates the ups and the downs. It covers Poland's glorious Jewish history in an elegant manner. That being said The Holocaust including the pogroms of Jedwabne and Kielce etc and the post-war events of 1968 are well covered. Nothing is whitewashed or sugar coated and in no way does this museum attempt to distort any historical facts. It is a fantastic educational establishment and seeing well behaved classes of Polish schoolchildren at this museum eagerly learning about the Jewish history of Poland is a very encouraging experience. I cannot recommend this museum strongly enough. Any change to the format of this museum would be a disaster. This is not a Holocaust memorial. This is a true museum of Poland's Jewish history.
5. GREAT MUSEUM. BETTER THAN ALL MUSEUMS IN THE USA OR ISRAEL

I was impressed by the quality and scope of the museum in general until I came upon one part of the exhibition about the holocaust. There was a room containing trees with very tiny photos of atrocities committed by the nazis. Their size, height, and fact that they were practically hidden could make them easily missed by many visitors walking by. Shame on the person who curated this part of the museum.
