2. Olmert offered 100% (in 2008)
Boaz   (08.02.19)
but they wanted 200% . A new arab state and the state of Israel.
As the French saying goes: "qui veut tout laisse tout"

4. Nothing
Daoud G Kuttab   (08.02.19)
the writer doesn't know what is being offered and his article is listed in the right place OPINION. Nothing of substance or even thought provoking in it

8. Pals have to understand that no Jewish state means no deal.
Sam ,   Montreal   (08.02.19)
Israel unlike the Palestinians already has a state so it is in no rush for Palestinians to have a state. Palestinians have to get off their high horses.

10. US, Ben Dror have no understanding to Arabs!
Mahmoud Yussef   (08.02.19)
Ben Dror,
You might be commentator on Israeli affairs, but you seem to understand nothing on Arabs and Palestinians. In this case, you are not different than Trump and his "musketeers"!
With no offer for dignified entity, and not an offer that "beautifies" the Israeli occupation, there will be no solution regardless to what the Americans offer or will offer!
11. Pals told its just a bad patch but after Trump all will b OK
Alan ,   SA   (08.02.19)
But Arab States have new problems .bla bla bla.. Kerry told them to hang in there!!!!
12. Incisive & Insightful. When you're right you deserve credit
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana   (08.02.19)
Kol ha-kavod. We don't yet know what's in Trump's plan. We do know that Trump is routinely villified and underestimated; yet continues to overcome the negative hype to remain the most effective president ever to serve. Yemeni's facts about the region are solid. It's a realistic look. I fully understand who is writing the negative comments (anti-Zionists and Arabs) and why they rant.
13. Autonomy
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (08.02.19)
Palestinians have seen autonomy already. It means they have no peace or security. It is the status quo. Why would they accept the status quo as a great deal?
14. Keep hearing about this, but...
Anonymous   (08.02.19)
When is it happening?
15. One State (excluding Gaza) would be Jewish, not "binational"
Jake   (08.02.19)
One State of Israel, including 100% of Judea & Samaria (Gaza is already relinquished) would have a Jewish majority of 67% and growing.

If David Ben-Gurion had the ability to integrate all of Israel with Judea & Samaria, while maintaining a 67% Jewish majority, he would not have hesitated for one second. Israel needs to rediscover its Zionist purpose.

Shabbat Shalom
16. Get used to it, Mahmoud.
Michael Davison ,   Ra'anana   (08.02.19)
This is what happens when you reject offer after offer without even making a counter-offer. This is what happens when you make stupid mistakes and refuse the best offers you're going to get because you want it all. This is what happens when the loser of every war tries to dictate terms of surrender to the winner.

Even the Palestinian National Charter (both the 1964 and 1968 versions) admits that:

"Article 3: The Palestinian Arab people has the legitimate right to its homeland and is an inseparable part of the Arab Nation."

https://web.archive.org/web/20140806011135/http://www.un.int/wcm/content/site/palestine/cache/offonce/pid/12363;jsessionid=293C499750EF77F0019ADF7A3D04A9C8

"Article 1. Palestine is the homeland of the Arab Palestinian people; it is an indivisible part of the greater Arab homeland, and the Palestinian people are an integral part of the Arab nation."

https://web.archive.org/web/20140806001222/http://www.un.int/wcm/content/site/palestine/cache/offonce/pid/12362;jsessionid=293C499750EF77F0019ADF7A3D04A9C8

The Arab nation embarked on a war of genocide and failed multiple times. "Palestine" is no longer an "indivisible part of the Arab homeland" (which is actually in the Arabian Peninsula, anyway).

You placed your money and made your bet... and lost, 71 years ago.

It's time the Arab nation grew up and accepted that it has to own its failures.
17. I cannot wait for the times, when "Palestine" shall be used
(08.03.19)
only within connection/referral to periods during Roman/British rule.
The Next Biggest Hoax will end soon. (the Biggest Hoax on Earth is of course...."man-made Global Warming")
But I fear for this to dissipate we'll have to wait long, long time....
18. there's no such thing as autonomy, full stop
Ricky Shotts ,   Dimona   (08.03.19)
all autonomies are autonomies within a state. the basque population are both citizens of Spain with the right to vote for the Spanish parliament and they also enjoy autonomy. The Scots and Welsh are both citizens of the UK with the right to vote for the parliament in London and they also have the right to vote for their local parliaments. The same goes for all other autonmous regions. So if one wishes not to give the arabs of the West Bank the right to vote for the Knesset, offering them autonomy as a final agreement is not the answer
19. What part of "They want to destroy Israel' doesn't he get?
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.06.19)
For a century, "Palestinians" have tried every humanly possible way to destroy our Jewish presence in our sole tiny Homeland. They allied with Nazis to exterminate Jews. They attack, terrorize, demonize, boycott, maim and murder Jews every chance they get. Yet, incredibly, there are 'journalists", like Yemini, who STILL don't get it. What part of "they want to destroy Israel" doesn't Yemini get?
