Considering that the film (a) had pornographic content, (b) had extremely graphic, violent parts, and presumably (c) gave primarily one side of the issue, I can see how the high school viewed the teacher's action as a major offense. The teacher should have used much more discretion.

Israeli cinema has done a tremendous disservice to the esprit de corps of the IDF over the last 30 years. Waltz with Bashir is no different. They hide behind "artistic license" but we know this film is just another hit on the homeland by an infantile, self hating Jew who is undoubtedly obsessed with sex and death, just like his Hollywood, and most assuredly Jewish, brethren in the US.
Want to show the inhumanity of war? Try doing a documentary on Syria.

I served as a combat office in an infantry unit in Lebanon and currently live in the UK. I have a 12 year old daughter. This movie is not appropriate for a 12 year old audience in my opinion. In spite of this it is an excellent movie and very deep and thought provoking. Whilst I do not agree with much of the political agenda and underlying themes of this movie it is however excellent and I strongly recommend it. I think firing the teacher is a little harsh. An apology would have sufficed.
