These is no need in Israel embassies and envoys, they are useless and waste of our money. There should be consulates that provide consular services for full charge and support themselves. And if there are not much visitors for the consulate services, it may be merged with a consulate of another country to save the costs - Micronesia or Guinea-Trapapua or Guatemala, for instance. It is done by many not so rich countries.

the article touches only the surface of the situation at israels Foreign service.
The PM, for years ,tries hard to dismantle israels foreign service via the
finance ministry. no israeli diplomat knows what his salary is, salaries are split,
paid only half,or at times not at all,and part with threat that it has to be paid back.Diplomats are being charged for official car ,even if they do not use car.
Embassies have to use unqualified or outsourced drivers because of budget
restrictions.residences are not properly maintained and often in a pitiful
condition due to budget restriction."schnorring" from local jews is what diplomats are ordered to do in order to fulfill their missions, events, receptions
travels. some diplomats take out private money to attend important events.
Morals are at an absolute low and so are the working relations between
diplomatsand local workers (who too suffer from budgetrestrictions) and there is no foreign minister who steps in to the rescue of his ministry. It is an absolute disaster and unbecoming of the State of Israel.Shameful, ugly and
and it will harm Israel in the long run . Nobody in the current government cares and most diplomats are to "scared" to raise their voices since "fear"
is reigning in this ministry. A pitiful picture of "the offical Israel abroad".

6. bibi can handle the foreign affairs without a ministry
tomer ,   jerusalem   (09.03.19)
but then ,what will then mr.katz do ? With the logic of comment No.1(which only shows how much b does not know about the work of foreign service) any
israeli ministry is a waste of time and money.

Worthless politicians should be ashamed - but when are they ever? Better those funds go to hospitals instead of into their greedy mindless pockets.
9. #1 but it is important to have the USA Embassy in Jerusalem.
(09.03.19)
Has it not occurred to you: that Israel is to the United States as Micronesia, Guinea-Trapapua and Guatemala are to Israel.

In other words your comment puts on full display precisely how ignorant you are!
10. Teaching Bibi's way Schnorring & Emolument

In other words if everyone does as Bibi does then it's regularized and legal right?
11. Diplomacy this: Trump isn't taking Netanyahu's calls

Trump has new best friends! Oops Netanyahu didn't make Trump's short list!
12. From my recent conversation with deputy consul it's not true
Steve Benassi ,   Minneapolis USA   (09.04.19)
The diplomats are well provided to perform their official duties

It does happen however that due to an overwhelming number of requests to show up for private public events the budget is insufficient to cover expenses and the inviting local host is covering that.
