What a silly, naive, and pretty useless piece of writing.

Just for a start, which politician, particularly in a country that has raised generations on arrogance and "me first" mindsets, will ever deign to apologize to anyone for anything?

At least four cabinet members are currently awaiting hearings related to criminal conduct. Not one thinks that resigning is the honorable thing to do. Several others - including Liberman - have a murky past, or just haven't been caught yet. And this fluffbag writer thinks these are apologetic types?

And that's quite apart from the most obvious fact of all about this so-called season of "repentance" has always been, is, and always be, a sham. One day after they've rent their clothes, fasted for 25 hours and "oy vay iz mir" crocodile tears, they're back to their usual business: lying, cheating, thieving, being rude and horrible to their fellow human beings.

Politics, in particular, has become uglier and dirtier as time goes on. It's quite clear that some nations can't function democratically. Here, they seek their legendary "King David", and their elusive "messiah" and when, every few years, they see that neither have ever bothered to fulfil their need for a miracle worker, they simply grasp at whoever they think will take the role. That is to say, provided that they were once good soldiers. Nobody has told them that military service is never an indicator of good leadership, and certainly not of good morals.

There is but one fundamental thing that the people are sick to the bones of, and it's the hypocrisy of it all.

It is the orthodox Jews who should apologize to the rest of Israel's citizens for never wanting to help defend the country but instead wanting to take as much as they can, in any form possible, from everyone else.

Never apologize and never explain .

The Ultra-Orthodox can apologize for forcing their own orientations on others--and for their vile invective against non-Ultra Orthodox Jews--and for their occasional violent attacks on other.

The settlers can apologize to the average Israeli taxpayer for taking their money by stealth to build more outposts and settlement infrastructure--and for taking over the political capital of the state like entryiests--and for the vile epithets often hurled at opponent Israeli Jews ("Nazis"; Kapos") who have just as much rights as they do--and for the gratuitous violence they visit upon both Palestinians and Israelis (including law enformcement persons) who do not agree with them.
