The simple suspicion that Lapid could become Israel's PM after Gantz has unified the right-wing vote against B&W. His relinquish will yield tens of thousands of ballots to the centre-left in the case of a third electoral call.

I believe that Lapid's forgoing to rotate the premiership with Gantz is not enough to siphon some votes from the right to B&W, because thinking about in his mere presence in a Gantz government may be a formidable deterrent to bridge the gap.

Now, everyone in Israel knows that Lapid is the universal heir to his father's party, the Shinui, the fiercest persecutor of every religious Jew, who even considered proposing a law to prohibit them from using a kippa in public, such as Marine Le Pen in France, or as Belgium, or the Netherlands, they intend to ban

When explaining these 2 terms, one should consider Lapid's 'dramatic announcement' as it was obvious for everybody this was never to happen anyway.

This is to try and convince the haredi parties that it’s ok to join a Gantz coalition and also to turn the tables in Netanyahu who recently blamed Lapid for the fact no deal was done with BW.

The reality is though nothing has changed as far as Lapid goes because if Gantz does form a coalition with Likud under the proposals made by Rivlin the PM would be allowed to suspend himself indefinitely ( during the indictment) during the time Netanyahu has suspended himself Gantz would of course becone the caretaker PM and if Netanyahu is found guilty probably eventually official PM.
After two years as either caretaker or official PM Gantz can step down in favour of Lapid so dedpite all his noble speeches Lapid has no plans to give up the rotation just do it through stealth.

Even though i am not in lapids political camp (til now)i admit he shows national interest before personal aspirations.this is recommendable and bibi should follow his move.
