1. Nixon sent 567 aid supply sorties while being impeached.

2. There's ZERO new in this article; all's been reported before
Rafi ,   US   (10.07.19)
What is missing in this account however is the ENORMOUS responsibility of the then head of IDF Military Intelligence, Gen. Eli Zeira.

The Oct 6 attacks need not have been a surprise...

For WEEKS prior there was a steady flow of highly credible information - from both King Hussein of Jordan and the CIA, among others - to both the IDF and Israeli govt about Egyptian & Syrian intent to attack.

It was Zeira - in a position of great power & influence - who contemptuously & arrogantly dismissed the warnings... right up to the first shots in the war on Oct 6.

So great was his influence that it impacted normally skeptical Golda Meir, Moshe Dayan, and Gen Dado Elezar.

In some ways, Zeira was the Arab's secret weapon... in that his misjudgments caused untold damage & suffering to the State of Israel... that still impact to this day.

Ironically, aside from censure and busted rank, Zeira was never court-martialed, never served jail time... and actually went to operate a profitable consulting firm...
3. DAYAN WAS TOO ARROGANT
TEL EM STRAIGHT ,   SAFED HONESTY   (10.07.19)
After the miracle of the six-day-war ,and it was a real miracle, Moshe Dayan and israelis become very arrogant and underestimated their arab enemies Egypt and Syria .
4. I was a boy, living in Beer-Sheva then ...

My understanding is, that Israel then had couple devices, which were ready to be used, and at the end this is what took away the drive from Arab aggression.

Since then no major war was lead by Arabs, who changed the tactic to support terror organizations.

Today, when war against Israel is impossible without being wiped out from the face of the world, the former enemies will come to reason and make peace.
Arabs have 22 huge countries, there is absolutely no justification for yet another Arab state in the heart of Israel!

Once this simple truth will transpire, the Arab nations should absorb the rebels from Gaza, leave the territory to Israel, so it has secure borders and can provide to common prosperity to the ME.

For this, the sol called wise leaders of Islam, should use their wisdom and bring finally peace to the embattled region - they owe it to their nations.
Israel will be ready.

Dayan wasn't the only arrogant one. Eli Zeira, the Head of Military Intelligence at the time, was so stubborn and fixated on the "conception" that Egypt would not go to war without Syria and without certain weaponry that he had asked Russia for. All the signs that Egypt was about to wage war, were there. It was not a surprise. Thanks to Zeira's stubbornness Israel lost close to 3000 soldiers. He should have gone to jail for life but he got off lightly.
6. PRIDE AND HURT FEELINGS
TEL EM STRAIGHT ,   SAFED HONESTY   (10.07.19)
After their defeat in june 1967 ,the arabs felt humiliated and their pride was severely hurt ,which is perhaps the main reason Egypt & Syria attacked Israel in Yom Kippur 1973, in order to restore their sense of pride ,perhaps Israel erred in 1973 by not seriously taking into account arab pride ?
7. 1973 and 1967
GENERAL NUISANCE ,   SAFED CYNIC HOUSE   (10.07.19)
Back in june 1967 ,the arabs ,namely Syria ,Jordan and Egypt severely underestimated Israel and paid the price and back in october 1973 Israel underestimated arab armies and also paid the price.
8. Israel did the impossible, so did TRAITOR Kissinger and
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (10.07.19)
spoiled Israels heroic victory.
9. DIASPORA MENTALITY AND 1973
TEL EM STRAIGHT ,   SAFED HONESTY   (10.08.19)
Israel ,in 1973 ,suffered from poor leadership ,namely Golda who was a disaster and weak.Somehow, many people bizarrely imagine Golda ,just because she was female ,was a strong and wonderful leader . In 1973 ,israeli leadership ,including Golda Meir ,Moshe Dayan ,Dado and others had the old ghetto diaspora mentality of : ' what will the goyim think of us ?? " which is why they hesitated to attack or defend themselves against a clear and obvious threat ,a massive build -up on the egyotian and syrian borders. And thank G-d, Arik Sharon showed up and helped to save the day in Sinai.
