1. Metal poles holding up aruv are the problem!

If you look at the photographs of the beach shoreline where this happened you will see that all around there are metal poles holding up the aruv. The metal poles acted like lightening rods and focused the lightening down to the area where this unfortunate young man and his family were standing.

Since we "need" an aruv on the beachfront, because. word. why trust the Talmud where it is written that the water is the end of the land and serves as an aruv. Then the very least make those poles out of wood or plastic!
