2. It's only about himself
If ever there was a sign of a tinpot dictator this is it. He's lost his mind, caring only about his own power and not the welfare of the country. Whoever heard of a democracy in which a party leader compels oaths of loyalty, disallowing any other person in the party from challenging the position??
He's playing with the country's electoral laws by refusing to allow anyone else an opportunity to form a coalition. He doesn't care about the massive cost of a third election and it's negative consequences on an already increasingly shaky economy. It's not going to get better because his time is so clearly over. But his ego is now out of control, and although he's failing to recognize this - having reached the age of 70 and up to his ears in corruption charges - he's actually had enough. He's no longer functioning as a balanced, responsible leader.
It's worse than pathetic to see how his poodles, all reduced to mere servants, seemingly ready to hurl themselves over the cliff that their head sheep is heading towards. Israelis? Those hard-headed, independent, arrogant and overly proud people meekly following the loser into an abyss? What on earth is happening here? Where has their spark of courage gone?
Netanyahu: resign, go home. And when you do, take your lap-doggies with you. This is a country that very badly needs honorable leaders committed to taking us forward, building - not pulling down - societal structures.
