Nice to read about your city in a good newspaper of a foreign country. Of course there are Jews in Galicia but maybe (and sadly) not in a public space. One small, just curious, clarification: the language of Galicia is Galego. Portugal was a division of the 'country' of Galicia so Portugues and Galego are the same language, in origin at least. In fact, there is no noticeable difference between Portugal and Galicia (even between Portugal and Spain).
Congratulations again for the newspaper. It is very, very hard to find nice papers nowadays.
4. 80%

Having just returned from a trip to Portugal in search of traces of Jewish settlement in Portugal, we were told by our Jewish guide who lives in Belmonte that around 80% of the population of northern Portugal are descendants of Jews who were forcibly converted during the 13th and up to the 17th centuries.
