CAPTAIN OBVIOUS ,   SAFED OBVIOUS   (11.09.19)
2. The quality of fellow drivers as I notice it on daily basis,
(11.09.19)
is becoming more appalling by the day!
One sees behaviour unimaginable only 10 years ago.
It's not boding well for our future.
Road culture is indicative of deeper undercurrents in society.
3. Amazing how society managed without cellphones once !!!
barbara ,   Haifa   (11.09.19)
Would it be so disturbing as to pass a law - not to be connected
to your cellphone while driving ? Would companies collapse, would
economy drop, etc. if you just drove your car with a closed cellphone?
We did do that once upon a time when there were no cellphones.

As for the children on the electric scooters - sorry but this is a parental
issue - parents must be stricter. Just because so-called school friends
are using scooter does not mean he/she has to copy them.
4. No....YOU DON'T SAY !

5. PSYCHOLOGY OF DRIVING
STIGMUND FREUD ,   SAFED GENIUS   (11.09.19)
Israelis appear to have a combative and competitive attitude ,both generally and when they get behind the wheel. Allied to this attitude is a low standard of driving instruction ,which is a recipe for disaster. We must thank G-d that thereare not more fatal accidents . Another maddeningly annoying factor is that israelis must constantly honk their horns, usually without good reason.
In civilised countries ,it is an offence or illegal to honk the horn ,unless for an emergency ,especially late at night. Israelis display a primitive and uncivilised driving style ,hence the high number of accidents in Israel.
6. let's be honest
TEL EM STRAIGHT ,   SAFED HONESTY   (11.09.19)
Standards generally in Israel are often low ,and the standard of driving and driving instruction is very low ,compared to most western countries. Israelis are used to it of course and so fail to notice their low standards of driving and behaviour .
7. CONCLUSION:
STIGMUND FREUD ,   SAFED GENIUS   (11.09.19)
Israeli drivers lack the appropriate character and qualities of character to become proficient and secure drivers. When driving, they tend to imagine they are in a Merkava 1111 Tank or flying an F-16 on a combat mission ,which is not conducive to safety ,as as to their constant noisy use of their car horns ,this is alluded to in psalms: ' There is no peace withing my bones ." All in all a lethal combination.
8. HOW MANY DEATHS WERE CAUSED BY DRUGS
EDEN   (11.09.19)
9. Yes dangerous! And el.scooters, bicycles and pedestrians
doda   (11.09.19)
as well. Their electronic devices more important than the surroundings and electric vehicles "empowering" reckless drivers, using roads as well as pavements without consideration for others or their own safety.
10. Extremely irresponsible culture + arsim police officers
Yoch ,   Jerusalem   (11.09.19)
I have witnessed, at least three times, police officers with their phone in their hands while driving. Mostly arsim, aged between 25-30. They think they own the world.

It is a cultural matter. These things don't change within 1 or 2 generations. There is almost zero, upholding the law in Israel, when it comes to many areas of law, not just traffic.

12. A Car is potentially a dangerous weapon
CAPTAIN OBVIOUS ,   SAFED OBVIOUS   (11.09.19)
Not just israelis, but any driver should appreciate that cars are potentially dangerous weapons and then drive accordingly ,with caution and full concentration. Aggressive driving and speeding is just asking for trouble . And concentration is required at all times, so switch off the music / noise ,swutch off your cellphones and drive.
13. Israelis have a LOT to learn
TEL EM STRAIGHT ,   SAFED HONESTY   (11.09.19)
And not just about driving but about many aspects of life.
14. #8 EDEN, TWO WRONGS NEVER DID MAKE A RIGHT
TEL EM STRAIGHT ,   SAFED HONESTY   (11.09.19)
15. ENFORCEMENT!!!
Michael ,   Yerushalayim   (11.09.19)
If the police really enforced the traffic lawa and handed out lots and lots of stiff fines you would see the behaviour change very quickly!!
16. Cellphones are a scapegoat the problem is much bigger
Zionist forever   (11.10.19)
Israel has always been infamous for its bad drivers and this reputation goes back long before the cellphone and it’s nit just car drivers.

So many times I have seen motorbike drivers drive along the sidewalk when the traffic lights were red and I even had an accident once as a result.
I was walking along and from behind me cones a motorcycle and as the driver goes past me I get clipped by the bike and fall over.

The driver stops, turns round and looks sees I am getting up and then turns round and drives straight across two roads with traffic going in opposite directions.
Not only could this idiot have seriously injured someone driving on the sidewalk but afterwards could have potentially got himself killer and cause a car accident.

One time I was in a taxi and it was during the World Cup and the driver had his phone propped up on the dashboard and was watching the match as he drove the car.

The police do not do enough and the law is nit tough enough have laws that can result in immediate suspension or permanent revoking of the driving license or even laws.
Ban the use of cellphones when driving either texting or even calling because it will take draconian measures to make Israeli drivers change their ways
17. TRUCK DRIVERS = CRIMINALS Potential KILLERS
TheWall   (11.10.19)
IF ISRAELI TRUCK DRIVERS WOULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING IN NORTH AMERICA, EVERY SINGLE ONE WOULD BE JAILED RIGHT ON THE SPOT - for ignoring ALL road and highway rules: SPEEDING, Changing LANES, TAILGATING = threatening, AGGRESSIVE DRIVING.

TRUCKS SHOULD DRIVE IN RIGHT HAND LANE ONLY and not over 70 kmh on highway. This is how trucks driving in N.America.

Most drivers are SPEEDING.
Many are Tailgating and Following too close.
70% of drivers totally ignore turn signals.
