Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Hassan Qashqavi, strongly condemned a car explosion which rocked Lebanon's Tripoli on Monday.

Most of the casualties were reportedly soldiers. It was the second deadly attack targeting troops in northern Lebanon in less than two months.

"This terrorist act goes against all human values," said Qashqavi. "Such heinous crimes serve only the Zionist regime, which seeks to damage the security, unity and sovereignty of the Lebanese nation," he said.

Qashqavi went on to express sympathy with the bereaved families of the victims, the Lebanese people and government and prayed for immediate recovery of the injured people.
