Soon after landing at Ben-Gurion International Airport last week, a Danish tourist told airport officials that "I came to Israel to meet Moshe Dayan and establish peace," Israel’s leading newspaper Yedioth Aharonoth reported Monday.
Interior Ministry officials told the Danish tourist: “Dayan is busy these days and cannot meet you."
The Dane acted strangely in one of the airport lobbies, raising the suspicion of airport security personnel who decided to question him.
The man answered a series of questions which included: "Where did you come from? How long do you intend to stay in Israel? Where do you intend to stay?"
The tourist answered the questions and told interrogators that he came to advance peace in the area and for that purpose he has to meet military leader Moshe Dayan.
Officials promise to pass message
Security officials decided he does not pose a security threat.
When told that Moshe Dayan died in 1981, the tourist said he had booked an appointment with the former defense minister.
Security officials promised to pass on his peace message to Dayan as soon as he is free, and put him on a plane back to Denmark.
