Morris (Moshe) Talansky, a Jewish-American billionaire who served as a key witness in former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's corruption trial, has passed away at 92. Talansky, an Orthodox-Zionist businessman who built his fortune primarily through real estate deals, was investigated in the cash envelopes affair, in which Olmert was convicted of illegally receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars during his terms as Jerusalem mayor and Minister of Industry and Trade. He will be laid to rest tonight at the Beit Shemesh cemetery.
