The Health Ministry said Wednesday that 1,573 people were confirmed to have contracted coronavirus in the past 24 hours.
Four more people have died from the virus bringing the total number of fatalities from COVID-19 to 375.
There are currently 22,704 people battling the virus with 195 in serious condition. There are 56 people on ventilators.
Positive results from testing on Tuesday, dropped to 5.7% from 6% though this is still seen as a very high percentage by health officials.
The government had decided not to extend the closure imposed on the ultra-Orthodox city of Beitar Ilit despite the continued increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases detected there.
One in four tests for coronavirus is found to be positive, according to the Center for information and Knowledge.
There are at least 680 residents currently battling the virus, constituting more than 1% of residents.
Only four other cities (Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Bnei Brak and Ashdod) have more cases of coronavirus.
