Prime Minister Naftali Bennett spoke Wednesday about the friendly fire incident that took place in the Jordan Valley on Tuesday, in which two IDF officers were killed due to mistaken identity.
"This is a very sad morning. I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of the two officers who were killed last night in a tragic accident," said Bennett.
"The two commanders devoted their best years to Israel's security and defense of the homeland. The whole nation of Israel mourns their loss."
