As of Tuesday evening, there are 16,289 confirmed coronavirus cases in Israel, while 238 patients have succumbed to the virus.
The Health Ministry said there are 5,589 people currently infected with the pathogen, while 10,465 have recovered from the disease.
Out of those currently infected with the virus, 91 are in serious condition, with 71 requiring respiratory assistance.
At least 245 people are hospitalized with the virus.
The government on Tuesday renewed its lockdown over the Bedouin town of Hura near Beersheba, which suffers from the second-highest coronavirus infection rate in the country, after the measure expired at midnight.
There have been 123 confirmed cases among Hura’s population of 16,983, according to the Health Ministry’s figures, including 20 new infections over the last three days. The number of cases there has tripled over the last week — the highest growth rate in Israel.
