Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh claimed during his speech at the UN climate conference in Glasgow, that Israel regularly harms the environment.
"The steps taken by the Israeli occupation, in particular the construction in the settlements, are turning green areas into areas full of concrete, drying up many water sources, damaging the soil and trees. These steps must be stopped immediately," Shtayyeh said.
"Since 1967, Israel has uprooted millions of trees, including 800,000 olive trees. The Israeli settlements, quarries, landfills and landfills of chemical and electronic waste are the main pollutants of the environment in Palestine," he added.
