Coronavirus testing sites on Friday reported long lines of people wanting to be tested for COVID-19 after the facilities were shut down for Yom Kippur.
Health officials said the sites will remain open until late on Friday in order to meet the public demand.
According to the Health Ministry nearly half of those confirmed to have been infected by the virus during the holiday were under the age of 11.
There are currently 658 people hospitalized in serious condition with complications of the virus, 182 on ventilators.
Since the start of the pandemic, 7,465 people died from the coronavirus.
