The Knesset on Wednesday approved in a preliminary reading a bill to regulate the use of medical cannabis
Some 54 MKs voted in favor, including lawmakers from the Islamist Ra'am party, and 42 opposed.
Ra'am Chairman Mansour Abbas, who vehemently opposed the move for fear of the spread of drugs in the Arab sector, decided to support it and explained he did not like the initial draft of the bill.
