About an hour before the final began, Yuval Raphael, Israel's representative at last year's Eurovision and one of the writers of the song 'Michel,' arrived at the arena in Vienna to support Noam Bitan. Raphael said: 'We are excited beyond description. We are behind Noam, and I believe that everyone who is behind the screen now watching is behind Noam and just as excited as we are.'
