Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke on the phone Saturday evening, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office.
"In their conversation, President Putin took an interest in Bennett's well-being after the weekend in Sochi and thanked him for their good and in-depth meeting yesterday," the statement read.
"The prime minister thanked the president for the warm hospitality and their helpful meeting, which will help strengthen the ties between the countries."
It was also reported that Putin invited Bennett and his wife to visit the city of St. Petersburg. Bennett replied that he would be happy to pay a follow-up visit.
The two leaders met in Moscow on Friday for the first time since Bennett came into office.
