The Director General of the Health Ministry, Professor Nachman Ash on Wednesday warned Israel's hospitals they too may be the targets of a cybercrime after the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera was hacked earlier in the day.
The Hospital said its computers were attacked and a demand for ransom was posted.
Ash asked hospitals to be especially vigilant. " You are requested to make sure to have a back up for all the information you hold on your systems so that you would be able to provide care should you come under attack," he wrote in a letter to hospital chiefs.
"I urge you to print hard copies of critical medical information," Ashe wrote.
