Prime Minister Yair Lapid said Friday night that Israel was not interested in a wide conflict in the Gaza Strip but was prepared for one.
"The terrorist organizations will not dictate the agenda around the Gaza border and we will accept ultimatums on Israel on any other front either," he said.
"Whoever must be arrested will be arrested, and any attempt to harm Israel will be dealt with a firm hand. We are not interested in an expansive campaign in Gaza, but neither are we afraid of it."
