The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen announced that the president of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in southern Yemen, supported by the United Arab Emirates, Aidarous Zubaidi, left for Somaliland by boat - and then boarded a plane to Mogadishu, Somalia. "The plane that took him to Mogadishu, under the supervision of UAE officers, waited for an hour and then flew to a military airport in Abu Dhabi," the coalition said, without specifying whether Zubaidi was still on board. The coalition statement comes a day after it reported that Zubaidi failed to board a flight to Riyadh for talks and that "his fate is unclear," amid military escalation between Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in southern Yemen that began last month.
