Israel Prisons Service's deputy chief commissioner, Moni Bitan, warned of a possible jailbreak in Gilboa prison five days before the escape of the six terrorists from the maximum security prison.
"There is erosion in the conduct of procedures in all prisons. Procedures need to be refreshed - and there is a possibility of an escape," Bitan wrote in a letter sent to Gilboa Prison Chief Freddy Ben Shitrit.
Ben Shitrit himself claimed he did not receive the letter during his testimony given as part of the ongoing inquiry of the escape.
