Finding jobs for settlers
TEL AVIV - The National Employment Service has formulated an assistance plan aimed at helping Gaza and West Bank residents slated for evacuation find jobs, Yedioth Ahronoth has reported.
Officials estimate hundreds of evacuees could lose their jobs in the wake of the pullout, prompting Employment Service Director General Esther Dominicini to initiate the special plan.
Service to distribute special booklet
In the framework of the scheme, the Employment Service is to designate some of its workers to personally accompany the new unemployed and assist them in securing a job.
The service is planning to distribute a special booklet among evacuees to inform them of their rights and job options available to them.
Officials decided to offer the new jobless personal service because they fear many could be in distress following the pullout. The Employment Service is already looking for potential jobs for evacuees, Dominicini said.
“We are acting in complete coordination and cooperation with other government offices,” she said.
