Fascists beware

Yaron London has had it with road blockers

Disengagement opponents - tire-burners, lock-breakers, street polluters, and internet-silencers - warn that they will continue to embitter the lives of this country’s citizens until the government changes its wicked ways.

This is a revolt. There’s no other way to describe this - not demonstration, not civil disobedience, not peaceful protest. It’s a revolt pure and simple. The orange-clad fascists want to coerce the elected government and legislature to bend to their will.

The press can easily find these fascists and even broadcasts their leaders’ voices on the radio, so it is reasonable to assume that law enforcement agencies have information on all, or at least, some of them.

If they were Palestinians, residents of the occupied territories, then chances are they would have been shot. If they were Arab citizens of Israel, furiously blocking streets in the Galilee and the Triangle region in northern Israel in protest over repression, they would have been quickly arrested.

If sufficient evidence could not be found against them, then the government would apply the Emergency Laws and throw them behind bars.

But since we’re talking about Jews, our dear brothers, the rebels are allowed to say whatever they want and operate with almost total freedom.

A very personal payback

Since I’ve despaired of the authorities that are selling out democracy, I am announcing that if the fascists block my car, I will take every reasonable action to clear the obstacle, and if that means fighting with some hooligan in orange, then I will smash his nose before he smashes mine.

At court, I will defend myself by citing Article 446 of the Penalties Law, which states, “A man will not be held responsible for action immediately required to repel an unlawful attack which threatens concrete danger to his or others’ life, liberty, body and property.”

Blocking a road is a concrete danger to a sick person, a pregnant woman about to deliver, and a crime victim who cannot be reached by the police. It’s definitely an attack on the freedom of movement of those stuck in their cars.

In addition to the immediate violence I’ll deliver to the street-blockers, I’ll sue them for mental stress and financial damages. And if I cannot identify the criminals, then I will sue their teachers and rabbis who incited them to hurt me.
