With friends like these…

Anti-Semitic Pat Robertson wants to open Jews' eyes ahead of Jesus’ return

At the beginning of the week, American evangelical preacher Pat Robertson told his viewers the God punished Ariel Sharon for the sin of disengagement.

"God says, 'this land belongs to me, and you'd better leave it alone,'" he said.

Robertson is a great friend of Israel, and close to Moledet Party Knesset Member Rabbi Benny Elon, who has helped him raise money.

He established the Christian Coalition, the religious, conservative wing of the Republican Party, created the Christian Broadcasting Network, on which he preaches his worldview, and does business around the world, some of it covered in clouds and fog.

He is also staunchly anti-Semitic. One of his main goals is to open Jews' eyes ahead of the return of Jesus as the messiah.

In order to understand the views of Elon's friend, here are some pearls of wisdom from Minister Robertson:

  • "Communism was the brain-child of German-Jewish intellectuals."

  • "With all due respect to these people (Jews), the all-knowing God does not hear their prayers."

  • "The Constitution of the United States, for instance, is a marvelous document for self-government by the Christian people. But the minute you turn the document into the hands of non-Christian people and atheistic people they can use it to destroy the very foundation of our society.”

  • “The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. Feminism is a socialist, anti-family, political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians."

“The great builders of our nation almost to a man have been Christians, because Christians have the desire to build something. He is motivated by love of man and God, so he builds. The people who have come into (our) institutions (today) are primarily termites. They are into destroying institutions that have been built by Christians, whether it is universities, governments, our own traditions, that we have... The termites are in charge now, and that is not the way it ought to be, and the time has arrived for a godly fumigation.”

Is that enough to convince Benny Elon to reconsider the people he calls friends?
