Pelephone extends roaming services abroad

Wireless provider signs deal with Vodafone's Holland branch that would enable subscribers to use phones in 200 countries worldwide

The Pelephone mobile phone company has signed a strategic alliance with the Dutch branch of Vodafone, the largest cellular corporation in the world.

In the framework of the deal, Pelephone subscribers will be able to enjoy roaming services in some 200 countries across the world, meaning that local providers will provide connectivity and coverage that would enable subscribers to use their phones in these countries.

Up until now, Pelephone costumers were offered this service in only 110 states.

According to Nir Stern, Pelephone's deputy marketing CEO, "the agreement with Vodafone will extend and improve the coverage, reception, quality of service, accessibility and convenience for our clients in 200 countries."

As of 2003, Vodafone has been offering cellular subscribers using CDMA technology access to global GSM networks and allowing them to use their phone abroad, regardless of the technology used in each country.
