Dozens of soccer fans were injured in a riot that broke out Sunday night after a match between Betar Jerusalem and Hapoel Petah Tikva at the Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem.
According to Magen David Adom, four of the injured suffered moderate to serious wounds; at least 30 others sustained light injuries.

The riot broke out when fans stormed the field at the end of the game, causing a bottleneck at the fences surrounding the field, and dozens were trampled as a result.
A number of wounded fans were taken to the locker rooms for treatment.
Jerusalem Police chief Ilan Franco said police were not prepared for such a scenario.
“This should not have happened. This was not Betar’s championship game, so we didn’t expect fans to storm the field,” he said.
Betar, a shoe-in to win the 2006-2007 league championship, beat Petah Tikva 2:0.
