IDF soldier lightly wounded in Nablus

Troops operating in Ein Beit Ilma refugee camp identify several armed gunmen; soldier, two Palestinians injured in exchange of fire

An IDF soldier was lightly wounded in his arm and leg during a military operation in the Ein Beit Ilma refugee camp in Nablus, which was conducted in the early hours of Thursday morning.

 

During the operation soldiers identified several armed gunmen and opened fire at them, hitting two men. The soldier was wounded in the ensuing exchange of fire with the gunmen.

 

He received emergency medical treatment at the scene and was evacuated to the Beilinson hospital in Petah Tikva for further treatment.

 

Several makeshift grenades were hurled at IDF soldiers operating in the West Bank town, and four wanted Palestinians were apprehended.

 

Palestinians also opened fire at IDF soldiers in Nablus’ Askar refugee camp. No injuries were reported in the incident.

 

A total of 15 wanted terror suspects were seized in the West Bank and the Jordan Valley.
