IDF soldiers and wanted terror suspects exchanged fire Tuesday morning during an arrest raid in the West Bank city of Nablus, the army said.
A soldier was lightly injured from shrapnel during the operation, which was launched to quell terror attacks against Israeli targets over the holidays.
The soldier was transferred to the Sheba Medical center in Tel Hashomer, near Tel Aviv, for treatment.
Troops have been in the city since late Monday night in preparation for a sweep against Hamas and Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) gunmen in the city.
The IDF thwarted a suicide bombing attack last week when they arrested a Palestinian teenager and defused three explosives devices he was supposed to pass on to a suicide bomber who planned to blow himself up in Tel Aviv.
