Naor in 'Rendition'

Yigal goes to Hollywood

Actor Yigal Naor to star in new Matt Damon film "Green Zone". 'He didn’t even have to take an audition," his agent says

Israeli actor Yigal Naor continues to pursue his career in Hollywood and to conquer additional targets: After starring alongside Meryl Streep and Jake Gyllenhaal in "Rendition", and after playing the role of Saddam Hussein in the impressive mini-series "Between Two Rivers," his next project is a role in the film "Green Zone" alongside Matt Damon, one of the Hollywood's hottest and sought after actors.

The film will also feature Greg Kinnear ("Little Miss Sunshine"), Amy Ryan ("The Missing Person") and Brendan Gleeson ("Harry Potter" films).

"Yigal didn't even have to take an audition," says Naor's personal agent, Perry Cafri. "The movie's producers, who were already familiar with his skills from his pervious work, approached us and offered him the role. As Yigal has signed a confidentiality agreement, I cannot elaborate on the project."

"Green Zone," which is currently being filmed in Morocco and London, is a dramatic thriller about an American officer and a CIA agent searching for evidence for the existence of mass destruction weapons in Iraq.

"Green Zone" is the center of international presence in Baghdad. The film is based on Washington Post journalist Rajiv Chandrasekaran's Iraq war chronicle. Naor plays the role of a local officer.

The film is directed by Paul Greengrass, who has already worked with Damon on the films "The Bourne Supremacy" and " The Bourne Ultimatum".
