Tel Aviv: Mother suspected of drowning her 4-year-old son

Boy found dead on Hizkiyahu Street; mother admits to drowning him in tub. Neighbor: She would always play with him outside, there was nothing unusual

A four-year-old boy was found dead Tuesday on Hizkiyahu Street in Tel Aviv's Shapira neighborhood. Officers dispatched to the scene summoned Magen David Adom paramedics after the boy's mother (31) admitted to drowning him in a tub.

The mother phoned police four hours after allegedly killing her son but did not give out her address. Police traced the call and hurried to the residence.

An initial investigation revealed that the woman, a single parent, immigrated to Israel 11 years ago. One of her neighbors told Ynet "she would always play with the boy outside, there was nothing unusual."

Paramedic Michal Yasur said the medical team estimated that the boy had been dead for a few hours. "We didn't even administer CPR," she said.

Officers at the scene began collecting preliminary testimonies from tenants.

On Thursday night 42-year-old Rishon Lezion resident Olga Borisov was arrested on suspicion of drowning her four-year-old son Alon in the sea.

The incident occurred just a few days after Ronny Ron admitted to murdering his granddaughter Rose Pizem. The girl's body has yet to be found despite an extensive police search.
