Tommy suffers from cerebral palsy and cannot speak at all. Instead, he uses a writing board to communicate with his surroundings.
He was removed from his mother's uterus in a Cesarean section after his twin brother Jan was born in a regular birth, and apparently suffered from lack of oxygen.
Tommy's mother, Karina, noticed that something was wrong with him since the day he was born, but everyone told her she was simply comparing him to Jan and that every child had his own development speed.
Today, with his basic communication board, Tommy can even write scripts and dream about becoming a film director one day. He receives a lot of encouragement from Jan, a completely healthy boy who doesn't cut him slack because of his disability.
Their mother Karina says that "the moment you sit with Tommy and see what he writes, you understand that he's not backward. He always accepted himself the way he is and is not jealous of his healthy brother."
