Ahmadinejad to attend Islamic summit in Saudi Arabia

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will attend a summit of Muslim leaders in Saudi Arabia, one of the Islamic Republic's staunch rivals. Ahmadinejad said in a statement that he will make the pilgrimage to Mecca prior to the conference.


Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah has decided to convene the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in order to deal with the crisis in Syria and other issues in the Muslim world. (AFP)
