Rachel Corrie posthumously honored with peace prize

Late activist Rachel Corrie, who was run over by an IDF bulldozer in 2003 as she protested the demolition of Palestinian homes, is one of this year's recipients of a peace prize in memory of John Lennon.

She has been chosen along with four others – including singer Lady Gaga, Russian punk band Pussy Riot and the late writer Christopher Hitchens – to be honored by the biennial LennonOno Grant for Peace. (AFP)
