Peres, French FM discuss Gaza op
In a meeting with the French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, President Shimon Peres said that the State of Israel was left with no other choice but to defend itself and that Israel's top priority was to end rocket fire on the south and resume normalcy.

Fabius said he realized the hardship that Israelis were undergoing, alongside recognizing that Palestinians had also suffered casualties. The French foreign minister added that a war must be prevented and a truce achieved. (Noam Dabul Dvir)
