Eleven dead in the crash of a military aircraft in South Africa
A Dakota Force South African Air crashed Wednesday evening in the mountainous Drakensberg area (east), leaving 11 dead, including perhaps the medical team of former President Nelson Mandela, according to south African media Thursday morning.

According to the agency radio EWT, the medical team at Nelson Mandela made a routine visit to the first black president of South Africa, aged 94 years. A spokesman for the Army contacted by telephone could not confirm that information immediately. (AFP)
