The Israel Post introduced a new stamp last week, honoring Israel's booming energy industry. The "Energy Stamp" was presented in a special press conference attended by Energy and Water Minister Uzi Landau, Communications Minister Moshe Kahlon and Israel Post Director Sasi Shilo. Also attending were Israel Post CEO Haim Elmoznino, Director of the Israel Philatelic Service Yaron Razon and Oil and Gas Exploration Industry Association Chairman Uri Aldubi. The NIS 4.2 ($1) stamp carries an illustration of an offshore oil rig, designed by Ronen Goldenberg and Tuvia Kurtz. "One way for a country to mark an important event in its history is by issuing a commemorative stamp," Minister Landau said. "The Israeli gas discoveries are certainly a historic event for the State of Israel." Minister Kahlon added that "Issuing this unique stamp attests as to the public's recognition of the booming energy industry. Natural gas is one of the most important discoveries for Israel."
