Former Chief Rabbi Bakshi-Doron accused of fraud
The State Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment at the Jerusalem District Court against former Chief Sephardic Rabbi Eliahu Bakshi-Doron amongst other things, for obtaining benefits by fraud under aggravated circumstances, fraud and breach of trust.


According to the indictment, the rabbi knew that false ordainment certificates were issued to the Rabbinate within the framework of the 2007 "Rabbis' case". The case revealed that the certificates were issued to over 1,000 military and police officials, and that millions of Shekels were fraudulently taken. (Aviel Magnezi)
